When will La La Land be taken seriously?

Los Angeles has been trying to grow into its fashion sense for some time now. We even began having our own fashion week for quite a few years however it does not seem to be sticking. I agree that LA is a trendy city and we get bored quickly with designs, but we love to look good, and love our fashion. Why is it that we have not been taken seriously yet. What do we need to do as a fashion city to get the right attention? We have great fashion schools and are in the heart of the entertainment world. I truly hope the day comes where people love to sit front row at our Fashion Week and the giggles turn into desire for the collections being shown. LA is truly a fashion forward city and deserves a little attention. With the street art and the tourists who flood the city every day we are constantly inspired by others and their fashion sense just as any other city. Please start looking into more local designers and you will see LA is seriously fashionable!!!

Dressing for a fashion industry interview

Preparing for a fashion industry interview can be extremely nerve-wracking, not because you’re nervous about what to say, but because you’re worried about what to wear. It goes without saying that you’ll want to dress totally different for an interview in the fashion industry as opposed to one for a field of law, accounting, or any other conservative industry. But you still need to look professional. The trick is to be unquestionably stylish without losing that professional vibe, so that anyone that walks in the room can and will take you seriously. But keep in mind, you should always dress according to your personal style. If you are dressed completely out of character to impress for the interview, it will be noticed and you will look uncomfortable.
You’ll definitely want a nice pair of shoes to wear for the interview. You don’t have to go out and spend $500 on a pair of Jimmy Choos (although it couldn’t hurt!) but you at least want shoes that look new and polished.
We suggest taking your favorite piece of clothing, the one that best showcases your style and that you’re most proud of, and incorporating it into your interview outfit. This is most likely your most expensive clothing item. Start with this item, whether it’s a nice blouse, a cute dress, or a stylish skirt, and go from there. You can add a stylish cropped jacket (think Kate Moss) to instantly get that office chic look, and don’t forget some trendy jewelry: rings, earrings, and necklaces. But don’t overdo it. If you’re going with a skirt, we strongly suggest pairing it with some pantyhose. Not necessarily nude pantyhose, you can go with black, navy, even forest green. Remember, it’s all up to you. Before you walk out the door, make sure you’re proud of how you look and that you look like yourself.

Style for all!!!!

As the seasons begin to change we start looking into the closet for change as well. I feel that this upcoming season will have a lot of color. As most of you saw in the Golden Globes many chose Emerald and I hope that we see more of that in the next season. I believe embellishments are here to stay so don't let that out of your sight yet. Something we should all have in our closet by now is the simple blazer. This can easily go from day to evening wear and is a great basic for everyone to have in their closets. The fabrics are ranging and so are the colors so go have fun out there and get your self some style!!!
